Acquired from a movies assets buyout, this gold nugget was used in the production of the Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Screen grabs featuring the gold nuggets are taken primarily from the bonus footage on the second bonus dvd disk that highlights how they made the treasure room. See “An Epic at Sea” and then “Production Design, ” starting at aprox. 3:30 where Larry Dias, set decorator for the film, talks about the treasure. He comments about having to make a lot of cubic feet of rock painted to look like gold nuggets. There were a large amount of small rough pieces made as can be seen in the photo with the wheel barrow and also some larger smooth nuggets. This nugget is not one of the larger quantity smaller pieces but one of the fewer quantity large nuggets! We received a couple of these along with our coins we acquired but very few in comparison to our coins! (which are also available for sale in our other listings) We only have a couple of these gold nuggets available for sale! We have never seen any of these come up for sale before. Comes with a beautifully designed and embossed Certificate of Authenticity featuring one of the gold nuggets (not the exact one you will receive, but one similar) from the movie memorabilia assets management department of the Logos Theatre. An additional letter of authenticity can be included detailing how the theatre acquired a majority of their assets, which included this gold nugget. Please request if desired.
