This is a really cool mine bird from Disneyland Big Thunder mountain. They used to use birds in mines to test the air quality. I don’t know if they still have physical prop birds on the ride, they’re probably all now screen projections, but there used to be physical bird props on the queue. This bird is actually fairly realistic. This appears to be pretty old and in decent shape. The interior is probably some kind of foam, and there are some holes in the bird in which I showed, and some feathers are missing. Also the feet are damaged. Whats great is it is attached with just a twist tie so it was not ruined with glue. It is attached to a very cool Big Thunder Mountain Disneyland poster. Let me just first say and be clear, that this is not how the original display came. It was in an acrylic display with some other stuff, but that broke and this is what was left over. Still makes a really nice display. But again this is not the original display. This came from a collection from the overseas collector in Asia. The display pieces included props from different Parks including the Asian Parks. This particular one is from Disneyland. It might have only been available for overseas members. There was a small placard that was in English on one side and Chinese on the other that explained a little about the piece, however that was lost. The entire display is about 8 1/2 inches long. The bird appears very old and has some damage. It appears to be partially foam and feathers. Some of the foam is damaged and many of the feathers are gone. But still a pretty cool piece. Also, the display itself is not in perfect condition as it was removed from another larger display. But overall the display is in great condition.
