Disney 2001 Pirates of the Caribbean Plaque Boxed Pin. This rare is a miniature replica of the plaque hanging at the entrance to Disneyland’s Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. This plaque pin honors the Pirates ride and pays tribute to the members of Walt Disney’s “Bucanneer Club” — aka Imagineers who worked on the attraction. The pin itself is metal and has been treated to age it. If you get this pin, don’t do a lot of touching as fingerprints turn up as dark blotches on the pin and are impossible to remove. That contributes to the rarity of this pin. This plaque pin just continues to’age’, very much like the actual plaque on the Disneyland attraction. That is why the pin looks discolored and aged. I personally believe that the’aged’ appearance adds to the pin’s authentic appearance.
